The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2009 is one of the world's greatest gymnastics events with at least 72 delegations and a total of 437 gymnasts (269 men and 168 women) competing for glory at The O2 Arena in London, on 13-18 October, 2009.
In the same artistic gymnastics event which took place in Melbourne in 2005, saw 189 male and 95 female gymnasts representing 67 National Federations.
There were no team events for this championships and 961 Men's routines and 551 Women's routines were competed in the Qualification round of the Championships on 13/14 October.
The usual heavyweight countries were all represented, with China, the USA, Romania, Russia, Japan and Great Britain amongst the delegations sending a full compliment of 6 male and 4 female gymnasts.
The British representatives at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were:
Female Team - Beth Tweddle, Becky Downie, Becky Wing and Marissa King.
Male Team - Louis Smith, Daniel Keatings, Kristian Thomas, Daniel Purvis, Theo Seager and Ruslan Panteleymonov.
The other countries sending the maximum number of participants were Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia and Switzerland.
This event gave a clear idea about the rankings of stars - which established gymnasts would stay and defend their positions for 2012 Olympic Games and which new names should be noted in advance of the London Games.
As the Championships in 2009 did not include the Team event, they presented a good opportunity to focus on the individuals.
The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2009 started with the Qualification round (Competition 1) which selected the top 24 male and female gymnasts who proceeded to the Individual All Round Finals (Competition 2).
The top eight gymnasts on each piece of the 6 apparatus for male and 4 apparatus for female, made a challenge for the medals in the Apparatus Finals (Competition 3). No scores from the Qualification round were carried over to the Finals.

Manitowoc, Wisconsin is situated on the shore of Lake Michigan. Followed Rte 42 South. Passed by an abandoned mine shaft build and hoist house in Maplewood. They were similar in position and style of the ones at the Quincy Mines in Hancock, MI. We don't know what was mined at this site. Because we were towing, we did not stop to ask. Manitowoc is the home of a great maritime museum. We have been there before a few years ago. Since that time they moved into a new quarters and built a very large museum. Manitowoc was a major ship building community of WWII. Their specialty was submarines. Yes, submarines on Lake Michigan. The USS Cobra is a WWII sub, harbored on the Manitowoc River,...

Read More ...Simply put, trademarks are for goods while service marks are for services. When discussing either, it is common to use the term "trademark", even when discussing a service use, because the handling of either is interchangeable by both the USPTO and all 50 Secretary of State Offices. The USPTO says that a "service mark is the same as a trademark except that it identifies and distinguishes the source of a service rather than a product. The terms 'trademark' and 'mark' are often used to refer to both trademarks and service marks." Let's look at each term in more detail. Trademark: The USPTO's definition: trademark "protect words, names, symbols, sounds, or colors that distinguish goods...

The Need for Original FashionFashion has and always will be a way of expression, a method through which you can uncover yourself and show the world a glance of who you are.
However, what the world is in desperate need of is not fashion, but original fashion. Original fashion is about seeing outside of the box and sharing new and interesting things with the world.
It is a little hard to believe that original fashion is becoming more and more of a stranger to us in such times of development, but the fact is that people sometimes forget who they are in their attempt to fit in. However, it is not all lost because there are still people who are willing to take a shoot and...
