It was many years ago when he received his first knife, it was a Buck. He didn't know it then, but the Buck knife would become one of America's finest made knives and gain world-wide respect for their fine craftsmanship.
When he was 7 years old he joined the Boys Scouts Of America. As we all know, you must first be in the Cub Scouts before you can move up to the 'Boy Scouts'. His 2 older brothers already belonged to the 'Scouts' so he was anxious to join them. Just like his 2 brothers before him, he received a Buck knife from his Dad. He felt so grown up like his 2 older brothers now that he had his own Buck knife. He would have it with him at all times, except at school of course. Times were different then, not like they are now. Most boys had their own knives for fishing, camping or just playing games like "stretch".
One day he was fishing when he saw this perfect branch to make a fishing pole with. He climbed the tree which was over the pond. We would call it 'The Lake' as it looked a lot bigger back then. As he was almost finished cutting the branch, he slipped and fell into the pond. It wasn't that deep so he was able to stand up and walk out on his own.I don't think he will ever forget that day.
We would use our knives for just about anything back then. From cutting branches to make fishing poles and slingshots, to cutting apples from our friends yard and even carving little statues to play soldier with.
Buck Knives have a variety of knives to choose from for that young scout in your life. The American Flag/eagle is probably one of my favorites. The handle is embossed with two classic American icons, the Bald Eagle and the American Flag. The blade is 1 7/8" in length and comes with Buck's famous lockback design for safe handling.
So, like we always say, "Trust A Buck...An American Tradition".

Are you looking for an everyday work knife that you can use to pry, puncture or cut without any problems? The The Buck Bravo folding knife might just be the perfect knife for you. I recently picked up a Bravo of my own and here are my thoughts: What I like about the knife: 1. At first glance, you will notice that the Bravo's blade has a unique shape. It almost looks like someone took a tanto style knife and carefully cut off part of the tip. The tanto knife is popular because it's reinforced tip is about as strong and durable as it gets. Although the Bravo's blade is slightly different, it is still equally as strong when it comes to prying, hacking or puncturing. 2. Any knife that...

Read More ...When one thinks of gold, the first thing that usually comes to mind is jewelry, generally followed by coinage, buried treasure and the recent upsurge in the recycling of the precious metal (not necessarily in that order). While these are all common uses, the possible applications are numerous. The potential that lies in gold owes itself in large part to the chemical properties than make the element so versatile and useful. Listed on the periodic table as Au (in honor of Aurora, the Greek goddess of the dawn), it is the most malleable and ductile metal on Earth. This particular property allows for the use of the metal in a highly visible and often overlooked purpose - the design and...

Both the Mayan and Aztec 2012 calendar have the similar time cycle. Usually the term "Aztec" refers solely to the Mexica people of Tenochtitlan, situated on an island in Lake Texcoco, who referred to themselves as Mexica Tenochca or Colhua-Mexica. Sometimes the term also consists of the inhabitants of Tenochtitlan's two main allied city-states, the Acolhuas of Texcoco and the Tepanecs of Tlacopan, who...
