People put a lot of value on antique items because people respect the fact that items that have been made many years ago still serve their purpose today. Evidence to the value that people place on these items is that antique items fetch very high prices, especially during auctions. Given this, buying antiques is not only a considered a good way to decorate your home but also as a worthwhile investment. As such, people who have recently purchased antiques can protect their investments by knowing the ways they can take care of the antiques they own. This applies especially to antique items that are very sensitive and are very vulnerable to wear and tear, including antique books.
Taking Care of Antique Books
In taking care of antique books, one of the most important initial steps that you should take is to know the parts of the book, so that you can identify the most sensitive parts of the books in order to know how to handle the book. The most sensitive part of antique books is the spine, which takes the most "punishment" when books are opened. It is also the thinnest part of the book. If the book is covered in leather, one of the best ways to keep the spine from breaking is to apply mild leather dressing to keep the leather from becoming brittle and vulnerable to cracking.
Antique books are also very vulnerable to humidity, which can cause the book to stain and fosts the growth of mold. Given this, it would be a good idea to keep the book in a clean and dry area. In addition to this, antique books should also be kept away from ultraviolet light because it can cause the leather cover of the book to fade. If possible, try as much as you can to cover your antique books with stable transparent materials like acetate, which can effectively protect your book from the "elements." Lastly and more importantly, if the cover of your antique book comes off, you should always ask the help of a professional in repairing the book because if you try to do it yourself, you can cause more damage and can diminish the value of the book.
Antique items are very valuable, which means that people who own them should take the necessary steps in caring for them. With regard to antique books, this is especially true, as there are a number of ways that people can take care of antique books, thereby protecting their investment.

Argentine Tango Lessons -A Cultural and Historical Framework before You Begin Taking Argentine Tango Lessons
In this short overview, you'll find easy Argentine tango lessons and a little background information for amateurs.
Learning how to dance the tango is kind of easy; but to understand tango is not.
Newcomers more often than not fail to figure out that man and woman have very distinct parts in the dance. This lack of understanding derives from the way today's thought has evolved since tango made its appearance at the end of the XIX century.
If you took some Argentine tango lessons before, you know by now that it's up to the man to decide where the couple will be heading to. There are no fixed figures. This was a curious alteration of the rigorous customs that had been popular during the Victorian Era.
Taking Argentine tango lessons, you come to recognize to what proportions society has so little a memory. In the beginnings, Argentine tango was considered an immoral or dirty dance.
Later, it flourished and became a must-know social skill in Argentina. Women in the River Plate area had their clandestine Argentine tango lessons at home. Their mothers and aunts used to reveal to them the secrets of everybody's favorite social dance. What a contrast this was, compared with the way men used to be taught tango before! When tango was almost unknown, it was normal to see one man dancing in a close hug with another.
Among the first things you learn when you take Argentine tango lessons, is that instructors call a woman "a follower". For nowadays criterion, this asymmetry in the roles connotes machismo. Yet, the woman has an active role in tango dancing. She's expected to intuit her partner's intents. If you never took Argentine tango lessons, you are about to discover how arduous this kind of abdication can be. It demands that she trusts him ; and it demands a special insight from his side, as well.
As promised, here you have some Argentine tango lessons:
1. The embrace. She passes her left arm behind his neck and puts the left hand on his other shoulder. He places his right hand on her spine.
2. The first walk. He takes 2 steps forward, starting with his left foot. Shestart backwards with her right. Then, take a couple more steps.
3. Halt.
4. Start again. Tango is slower than most dances.
That's all folks! Those were your first Argentine tango lessons.
Continue practicing!
Nevertheless, if you really want to take Argentine tango lessons, you may schedule a round trip to the the hometown of tango, Buenos Aires. The best tango teachers in the world await you there.

Ballot eccentrics are a U.S. tradition

A call center is all about services and communication is the lynchpin of their services. To speak effectively and accurately, a good call center script is must for agents who go live and provide answering services. A call center script is much more and beyond than basic answering lines of 'How can I help you'. It is about the improvisations, marking up speech or of the text passage to shorten it so that agent do not lose breath while talking; insert pauses and proper rehearsal of the words or sentence clauses they need to emphasize upon. An agent should possess good improvisation skills to direct the conversation towards a positive way.
A good call center script should be appropriate for both the company and its products. It should enlist all the possible queries and questions; a customer is supposed to ask. Along with a good written script, an agent should possess good improvisation skills to direct the conversation towards a positive way. Here are some important tips to create a good and effective communication tool for your clients.
1) Tongue Twisters: A script, starting from the welcome phrase to end greetings should be simple and easy to articulate. Operators should pronounce the words without accent and easily. The script should be brief in nature and should not have any repeated consonant sounds.
2) Time: A simple hello will be enough for your all global customers. As outsourcing service providers BPO and offshore contact centers have 12 hours of hiatus between the standard time so, a good morning or good evening may not help.
3) Trust: Be patient and polite with your customers. Try to empathize with his problems and create trust. Avoid speaking like a recorder or IVR machine.
4) Temptation: Make your script short and sweet. Avoid temptation to fill everything in between and gush when needed. It is recommended to keep a copy of Frequently Asked Questions as these have the answers of almost ninety nine percent of queries.
5) Test: Never try the patience of customer. Long pauses or hold for a reply can make them feel to never come back. In case, if necessary ask them to call back.
6) Tweak: Edit your script like a ruthless dictator and make it action oriented.
7) Track: See, compare and analyze the changes in the personal and professional performance after making necessary changes in scripts.
A good call center script increases the conversion rates and decreases the dropped call logs. It is always better to work on a call script with a representative from the company because they are the ones who know ins and outs of their product and services.

When most investors think about offshore asset havens, the first prospect that comes to mind is the traditional Swiss Bank Account. This has become a virtual stereotype of asset protection, probably because Swiss banks have been in this field of financial services the longest compared to other countries.
Switzerland has maintained a longstanding political distance between itself and the rest of Europe; it maintained neutrality through both World Wars (leading to charges it collaborated with the Nazis); it is not an EU member; and only joined the United Nations in 2002. Christoph Meili, a security guard at the United Bank of Switzerland, became a prominent whistleblower by preventing the destruction of Holocaust-era financial records in 1997 and bringing them to the attention of the public. Subsequently, Meili lost his job and received death threats, and became the first and only Swiss national to be granted political asylum in America. Descendants of Holocaust victims claim Swiss banks are still holding onto some their ancestors' funds, despite disbursements in recent years.
Regardless of its somewhat unsavory past, Switzerland has traditionally had much to recommend it as an asset haven. It is a stable western country with a well established system of laws, so investors will get no sudden surprises after a coup or regime change.
The financial establishment in Switzerland Banking in Switzerland is known for stability, consistency, privacy and protection of client assets and data. The nation's tradition of bank secrecy dates back to medieval times, but was officially codified in a 1934 law. All Swiss banks are regulated by the Federal Banking Commission,or FBC, which derives its authority from a series of federal statutes. Banking is a major industry in Switzerland, employing approximately 5% to 6% percent of its workforce and generating 14% to 15% of its annual GDP. It is estimated that approximately one third of offshore funds are stored in Swiss banks. The UBS AG and Credit Suisse are the two largest Swiss banks, holding more than 50% of all deposits in Switzerland.
While secrecy of banking data is guaranteed under Swiss law, in practice it is not unlimited. While secrecy is protected, all bank accounts are linked to an identified individual, and a judge or prosecutor may issue a "lifting order" to give law enforcement access to information relevant to a criminal investigation. Swiss law discriminates between tax evasion and tax fraud. If money is not declared, this is considered tax evasion, a misdemeanor under Swiss law. However, tax fraud such as filing forged tax declarations is considered a criminal offence.
Also, in an effort to stop the use of Swiss banks by criminals, The Money Laundering Act sets standards for the identification of account holders, and requires reporting of any suspicious transactions to the Money Laundering Reporting Office. After 9/11, Switzerland was one of several countries to participate in joint task forces targeting financing of the Al-Queda terrorist organization.
Due to Switzerland's high profile in the world banking community, it has come under pressure from many nations including the U.S. to alter its privacy laws. European Union members complain that their nationals use its convenient nearby services to avoid taxation at home. The EU is working towards a harmonized tax regime among its member states, and the the Swiss banking officials (and, according to some polls, the public) are against further integration. However, some cooperation has been forthcoming, and since July 1 2005, Switzerland has charged a witholding tax on interest earned by the personal Swiss accounts of E.U. nationals.
In 2001 and 2002, the government of Italy offered a limited amnesty to tax dodgers with Swiss accounts, resulting in the repatriation of 30 to 35 billion euros. In 2003, another such amnesty program was offered by Germany. In 2003, the U.S. announced a new information-sharing agreement under the previously-signed U.S. - Swiss Income Tax Convention, to facilitate more effective tax information exchange.
Swiss numbered bank accounts are legendary to the public as bastions of secrecy, but in reality, the information required to open such an account is the same as that of an ordinary account; completely anonymous accounts are legally forbidden. The only difference between a numbered account and a regular account is that personal data concerning such accounts is restricted to senior bank officers, rather than being accessible to all bank employees. In a criminal investigation, law enforcement can access the numbered account holder's identification just as easily as that of a regular account.
In summary, anyone who wants to keep a legitimately-gained amount of capital in a safe off-shore asset haven should consider Swiss banks to be a safe bet. However, due to their high profile, these banks may offer less assurance of privacy than some lesser known, and less carefully scrutinized, countries such as the Turks and Caicos or the Guernsey Islands.
