Pony Express: adventure, legend and lies
SAND SPRINGS -- Out here, miles from nowhere, one doesn't need much of an imagination to visualize "Pony Bob" Haslam galloping by on his horse while being pursued by Indians.
Well, it appears the CEO of British Petroleum has taken some verbal hits from the media, and the media has been able to cause enough chaos and controversy to promote riots, protests, and threats of BP boycotts. So, what else is new you ask, isn't that how the media makes its money promoting sound and fury in signification of nothing? Indeed, however what we have now are bloggers, and folks completely removed from the situation, in parts of the country 1000s of miles away from the oil spill posting basically hate speech against the CEO of BP.
Sure, BP is not going to get away without a little bit of criticism, that's obvious, that's a known challenge to their brand name, and the reality of public relations in crisis mode - however British Petroleum's stock and valuation has greatly suffered already. Now some say that's not enough, sure, I get that, still, we now have the New York Times with a recent article titled; "Another Torrent BP Works to Stem: Its CEO," and goes on to say "BP, already bedeviled by the oil spill, now finds itself with one more problem: Tony Hayward, its gaffe-prone chief executive."
Okay so, he's an oilman right? Sure he is, and he talks dissimilar to those who are expert teleprompter readers, or ultra-left "politically correct" haters of capitalism. But, it really isn't fair to say that BP CEO is the wrong man for the job due to his mannerism, shoot from the hip style, or calling an ace, an ace, and a spade, a spade - that's the way they do it in the oil business. If he wasn't like that he wouldn't be where he is today at the head of one of the world's largest oil companies, right?
It is amazing that we are told by the politically correct media to "win the hearts and minds" of radical terrorists, and understand other cultures, and yet, they fail to understand the oil industry and its culture. Instead they are calling for Tony Hayward to be fired from BP, why - because he doesn't shower pleasantries on the media? And what if he did, the media would pick something else to try to hang him with, that's how they do it. They build you up and burn you down.
After all, the media took 100s of millions in advertising from BP over the last few years for their alternative energy solutions, and commitment to green energy innovations. This whole attack on an oilman's abruptness, hard line attitude, and comments sure reminds me a lot of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and if you'll read that book there are some very decent lessons in there for all of you out there in the public who want to bitch and moan about our industrial capitalists. Be careful, very careful what you wish for, and with your hate speech too.

Network Marketing (Networking)Â has had its share of negativity over the years. Unfortunately this has been for good reasons. Traditional martial arts methods might be leaving you feeling annoyed, agitated and bored. This situation is exacerbated by the fact that plenty of black belt martial arts masters would never win in a real world fight on the streets. Unfortunately many martial arts instructors call themselves masters, but you can only learn street fighting from someone who has done it. It's this type of fighter who has demonstrated and developed the necessary skills to help...

Traditional LASIK makes use of a microkeratome to cut a thin hinged flap in the cornea. The flap is then folded back to reveal the stroma - the middle layer of the cornea. A high precision laser, called...
