Latest Blow to U.S. Automakers Is No-Joke Kia: Jason H. Harper
A friend recently argued that it’s hard to find a bad car these days. He may be right.
It's a fact that everyone gets angry. It is normal and natural, and sometimes even useful and appropriate. If you are a parent, however, it can be hard to understand and deal with your children when they become angry. There so many issues that can cause anger that it is impossible to put together a list. However, you can learn some important techniques here on how to deal with that anger.
It all starts as infants. Tiny little babies don't have the advanced communication skills to express their feelings and explain what they want. So they do what they know how to do - they get angry and cry. While this can be very unnerving, it also serves a useful purpose of providing a way for the child to communicate a need to the parent. It's not a personal attack by the child, even though it can feel that way. It is simply their way of communicating when they don't have other ways to do so.
As children enter their "terrible twos" and mature to age four, they start to exercise and test their independence. Toddlers can understand many words but still don't have the skills to speak. Just like infants, toddlers use their anger to communicate to parents. They also use it to test the limits of their independence, and as a result they learn boundaries. That learning process can be very taxing, but it is important.
As your children become school-aged, you need to be ready for anger. Do you have something that can keep them occupied, such as a coloring book? Make sure to have it handy. If your child is doing something that will cause them or others physical harm, take action and be assertive by physically handling the situation. Otherwise, you can use techniques like a time out to help control their behavior.
As your children become older, watch them carefully. If they are often angered or easily angered, there could be an issue that needs your attention.
You first need to do your best to determine what is causing the anger. Sometimes a trip to the doctor for a checkup is in order. They may have medical issues that are causing pain or preventing them from seeing or hearing clearly. Next, look at their environment. The death of a friend or family member, or a significant change in their environment - such as a move or a divorce - can create anger in children.
Anger is OK. It is an emotion, neither good or bad. It just is. However, how we handle anger and how our children handle anger can be good or bad. Whether a child or an adult, we need to learn how to appropriately handle our anger. Stepping away from the situation can be a healthy way to handle anger. Doing something physically active, such as going for a run or lifting some weights, can help too.
Finally, if all these approaches seem to fail over the long term, consider getting some assistance from a professional counselor at your church or someone who is in family practice. Look for someone who is properly trained in family counseling and is properly licensed.
Anger can be hard to deal with, but with patience and these techniques you can handle it.

Expeditionary surgical unit supports African Lion in Morocco U.S. Marine Corps and Navy reservists from 4th Medical Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group came here in late May to set up a Forward Resuscitative Surgical Suite trauma center as part of exercise African Lion. Comparison Of Army Tankers And Marine TankersThe following is an expert opinion by a Military Tanker: "Being a Marine Corps tanker is the way to go. Can't go into a lot of detail about how Army Tankers and Marine Tankers are different, just that the entire culture of the Army is so much different than the Marines. Either way you'll go to Ft. Knox, Kentucky. I found it to be a drab and miserable place. I give all due respect...
Read More ...Can you get military training without going to war? such as how to fight a man with a knife, or how to enjoy pain, kind of like an insane bootcamp. basically become a soldier but not fight in iraq or afghanistan? doesn't have to be free or even officially army related. any thoughts? I'll have to object to the use of POG, by one poster, although REMF is a fairly appropriate term. When marines get in trouble they call on POGS to save their @sses. In my war, some marines would say they would rather walk back than fly with us. That's how dangerous it was for air crew POGS in Vietnam. We had the highest casualty rate of anyone who served there. Of course, the grunts never refused a ride...

The family of one of my friends, David, when I was young owned a small bakery. There were another few bakeries in town, but theirs was, without a doubt, the best one in our town - and for miles around. When they moved, it became the best bakery in that town also. David's mother and father were from Germany and they were excellent cooks of anything with wheat flour and sugar, icing, or glaze. At twelve, David was already well-versed in business and I got to see him selling to customers...
