Neodymium Magnets is no doubt the strongest and the most popular rare earth magnets. It comprises of Iron (Fe), Neodymium (Nd), and boron (B) to structure the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline composition. It is also called NIB, NdFeB, or Neo magnet. It is a permanent as well as a highly durable metal.
These metals were invented in the year 1980. Today, they are the strongest and most affordable type of rare-earth magnet. In this article I would basically like to stress up on some of the key properties of neodymium magnets. Let us start with the first one.
1. Coercivity
The high uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy of this metal gives it the power to have high coercivity. They have a very high resistance to demagnetization due to their tetragonal Nd2Fe14B crystal structure. Due to this feature this metal is highly used in many different kinds of industrial applications.
2. Remanence
This metal has excellent magnetic field strength. One problem with this magnet is that it may even break off and split if it is allowed to snap together.
3. Curie temperature
It is the maximum temperature at which this metal loses its magnetism. These metals usually have a low working temperature for heat applications and can catch fire at high temperatures.
4. Strength
These items are much more powerful then any other horseshoe magnet that are available in the market. They have highest magnetic strength.
Neodymium Magnets are small yet powerful metals. These permanent metals have now replaced alnico and ferrite magnets. Now a day's these magnets are used in numerous myriad application such as computer hard disks, magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic guitars, audio speakers, motors, actuators, electronic devices, CD, DVD, mobile phones, digital cameras, watches, timer switches, cars, bicycles, fishing reel brakes, children magnetic toys, etc.
You can easily transfer these elements from one place to another. Even a small size magnet has high energy. Let me tell you that the north pole of the Neodymium metal will only attract the north pole of the other neodymium element and it will always repel the South Pole.
These elements usually come in different shapes and sizes. Now a day's market is flooded with variety of Neo magnet. You can easily find disk shaped, cylinder shaped or ring shaped objects. Let me tell you one more thing that if you will use this magnet gently then it will serve you for a lifetime. I hope now you have a good idea of this object.
