1) Does your new king comforter match the current decor of your room? If not, you may have to redecorate your room around the new style of your king comforter. Redecorating can be costly. 4) Will your new king comforter work in your climate? Your bedding will work best when it is made of breathable fibers, such as cotton. This is especially, true in hot, humid weather. In comforters cotton fibers work well for the top shell, fill and back shell. Some manufacturers use cotton/ polyester blends over polyester fill. These work well in cooler climates or winter. Again, check labels for manufacturer product materials to ensure you are getting the right combination for your needs.
5) Is the fabric of your king comforter durable? There are two factors that determine durability that should not be over looked. They are: thread count (T C) and fabric content. You may want to know if the fiber is manmade or natural. Manmade fibers such as polyester and rayon are usually made of fossil fuels. Natural fibers, such as cotton or bamboo are grown. All of these are durable, but they are used in different ways, and for different purposes. T C is measured by how many threads are present in the weave per every square inch of fabric. If you have 180 T C that means you have 180 threads per square inch of fabric. Naturally, the more quality the fiber, and tighter the weave the more durable the fabric. Higher T C cottons, for example, have a rich, soft, silky texture and are very durable.
