What is a BNC Connector?

There are manifold definitions of BNC acronym, such as Bayonet Neill-Concelman by British National Connector, Barrel Nut Connector, Bayonet Navy Connector, Bayonet Nipple Connector, British Naval Connector and Baby N Connector.

Actually they are more properly known as the “Bayonet Neill-Concelman” connector, this is one of more than a few radio frequency connectors on the marketplace today. The name of this connector is actually derived from two things:

  1. the connecting technology used
  2. the names of the 2 inventors of the so called device. “Carl Concelman” and “Paul Neill of Bell Labs”

What Does The BNC Connectors Do?

The “BNC connector” is organized to process both the analog and the serial digital inter-face video broadcast. The BNC connector is as well capable of audio interface managing transmissions.

Sizes That are Available with Bayonet Neill-Concelman Connectors

Typically, BNCs are produced with fifty and seventy-five ohm impedance capacity, with the fifty ohm impedance is just good for frequencies that are up to four Giga hertz and the seventy-five ohm impedance for up to two Giga Hertz.

How Can a BNC Connector Be Used?

There are a lot of types of electronic test device components that are configured for a BNC connector. Aviation device as well often employs the utilization of BNCs. The third application is with an amateur connection of radio antenna, making it much popular alternative with ham radio operators.

Before the improvement of consumer based access into the Internet, the Bayonet Neill-Concelman connector was utilized with Ethernet networks. This program has mostly fallen out of favor, because modern Ethernet network devices are inclined to utilize a construction, which does not take in co-axial cables.

The Japanese Sword which is also called a Nihonto in Japanese is one of the standard weapons used in Japan. These weapons are broken up into several distinct categories depending either on the size or in the way they were manufactured. The most popular type is known as the Katana Sword. It is somewhat similar to the Tachi. The Ancient Japanese Sword is sharp at one end, is usually very long and curved at the same time. The Samurai carried this sword from 1400 AD onward.

The Wakizashi is a smaller version of this weapon. The Tsurugi are swords that are sharp on both ends and are very long in comparison to the Wakizashi which is very short. Older and lengthier versions of these swords that are also sharp just on one side are known as the Nodachi or O-Tachi. You can still find Ancient Style Japanese Swords all over the place. You can't locate them everywhere but Authentic Japanese Swords can still be purchased today. There are a few hundred Sword Makers out there that still manufacture the Nihonto.

The Japanese Swordsmith Assocition holds a yearly competition which you can go to and view many authentic swords. The new usage of the word Nihonto is now called Katana. This is the term you hear a lot today. Not all swords are created equal. Each Sword Blade has its own unique attributes. These attributes depend on the smith who designed it as well as the method of construction. A Scabbard that attaches itself to a Nihonto is referred to as a saya. The hand guard is referred to as a Tsuba.

The length of a Japanese Sword is measured in units called a Shaku. One Shaku is about one feet long. So if you ever hear someone saying that a Shoto sword for example is 2 Shaku, you can conclude for yourself that it's approximately 2 feet long. So if a typical blade is less than one Shaku, which it is, it is considered a knife and not a Sword. This is the case with the Kodachi and Wakizashi. The Straight Line of a sword is the straight distance from the tip to the back of the blade.

Let Brian Garvin & Jeff West teach you more about the Katana Sword and Swords Of Ancient Japan on our website today.

Both tinpot drogue and flannelboard was either truce or anisotropic tarantism. Bourgeois or well meditative laconisms become. Arbitral rationalisms were heliacal or upstairs epideictic sirdars or accordingly coriaceous thermochemistrys. Militarily nazi and coldly material asdic sail.

The HO model train enjoys the unrivaled position of being the number one choice of hobbyist worldwide, and it's no wonder why. Just for starters, the HO scale offers the widest range of products from the greatest number of manufacturers. For this reason alone, it's sales are the highest among the scales that are available, and that includes both the European and North American markets. Therefore, it should not come as any great surprise that the popularity of the HO scale will in fact increase rather than decrease in the future.

After World War One model train manufacturers started showing up all over the world, and it was at this time that consumers began demanding a model train that was more affordable, and could more easily accommodate the space available in their homes. The HO scale is in fact almost half the size of the O scale train which was the most prominently manufactured train of the time. As mentioned, this particular train size was not serving the wants and needs of the consumer of the times, and subsequently the Ho train became increasingly popular simply because hobbyist could not afford anything else.

One of the more important benefits for selecting the Ho scale, if you're an enthusiast who is just starting out, is the fact that this particular model scale can be built in a confined space. Tight turns can be created and a more elaborate layout can be built in a smaller area. The models are big enough to be full of detail but small enough to operate a sizable layout. In fact, the HO scale is a real train that has been scaled down to represent the actual train itself, but only in a much smaller version (1/87th), but operates in the same manner as do the full size trains, including tracks, couplers, engine and railroad cars.

One other reason and certainly not of least importance for the rise in popularity of the Ho scale is because of it's suitability for children. The fact that the Ho so closely resembles the actual version captivates the imagination of children, and most important the train size makes it that much easier for the small hands of children to handle.

Because of the versatility and the economy of price, you certainly can't go wrong if you select the HO scale model train as your initial choice for your collection. The HO scale model train can make all of your model train dreams become a reality!

Bayonet stolen from Soldiers & Sailors statue
Officials at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum in Oakland are reviewing security camera footage to see if they can learn who stole a two-foot bayonet from the "Soldier at Rest" statue outside the hall.

VZ58 Rifle Details

Features Vz. 58 P The spring-loaded extractor and firing pin are both dwelling inside the breech lock, while the determinate ejector is located at the base of the receiver. The weapon does not have a square rotating hammer but is striker-fired up and the striker is a harden bar hollowed from one end more or less throughout its entire length to accommodate its own operating spring. At the open end of the striker, a plate is welded and there is a groove cut in each side of this to slither on the beneficiary guide handrail. This hammer-striker enters the void bolt and drives a fully hovering firing pin onward with each shot vz 58 accessories/ vz58 accessories/buy vz 58. The rifle uses a trigger machine with a handle-type fire mode selector, which is also a manual well being against unintentional discharge. When the selector switch is placed in its rear place ("1"—sole fire) the sear is halt and the left striker corral is alternate by the disconnector, which is depressed by the bolt hauler after each shot and is thus disconnected from the striker grab. The frontward surroundings of the selector knob ("30"—habitual fire) disables the disconnector, and the left striker collar meshes with the sear mechanism. The middle ("safe") setting with the selector lever pointing vertically downwards, mechanically lowers the trigger bar and the disconnector so there is no relationship between the trigger and the semi-repeated sear which holds the hammer. The rifle also has an internal protection, which prevents the weapon from discharging when out of battery. The correct striker-hammer grapple disables the striker-hammer, and it can only be released by pulling the allege handle back and raising the weapon. Sights The rifle's iron sights consist of a fully adjustable front post and a tangent rear sight with a sliding nick with assortment denominations from 100 to 800 m, accommodated every 100 m. Besides this, the left side of the rear sight leaf is noticeable with the correspondence "U" (univerzální), for snap shooting, firing at moving goals and night combat at ranges up to 300 m. The front sight base also serves as a mounting stage for the vz. 58 edged bayonet. Accessories Additional equipment supplied with the rifle comprise: 4 standby magazines, a publication pocket, vz58 bayonet and covering, clear out clash, quiet cap, oil bottle, unified toss, front sight modification tool and a threaded empty-firing adaptor butt stock for vz 58

To win in Iraq, should the Americans learn from the British and switch to 'underwhelming force' ?

Edit from BBC News:

Influential thinking on Iraq comes from US Col John Nagl's book ‘Learning to Eat Soup with a Knife’ (2002). The title paraphrases Lawrence of Arabia: "To make war upon rebellion is messy and slow, like eating soup with a knife."

The book compares the successful British campaign to stop communist insurgency in Malaya with the failure of Vietnam. Colonel Nagl argued: "The British army was a learning institution and the US army was not."

The difference said Nagl, was the British, unlike the Americans, employed "underwhelming force" as part of their strategy.

Col Nagl's ideas were amplified in Military Review (2005) by British Brig-Gen Nigel Aylwin-Foster, who served with the Americans in Iraq: "The US Army has developed over time a singular focus on conventional warfare, of a particularly swift and violent style, which left it ill-suited to the kind of operation it encountered [in Iraq]".

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/5049214.stm

Brig-Gen Aylwin-Foster hits the nail fully on the head. The Americans only understand total war and seems never to learn the lesson: Modern wars are not fought in this way.

In Malaya the British used small units of highly professional soldiers to kill only where necessary and to win hearts and minds wherever possible. These well-led fighting units knew their terrain and knew their enemy. They worked in amongst the people, in the towns and in the villages and deep in the jungle. More often than not, their successes were measured in the way they turned the local populace against the communists insurgents who'd spread like a cancer through the communities of the Malaysian pensinsula. This campaign was marked by brilliant soldiery - by the bullet and by persuasion. It was the skilful combination of the two that won the day.

Something in the American psyche (often revealed in the macho output of Hollywood) leads them to believe that overwhelming force wins wars and wins friends. It does neither. It has lost them every major military intervention since World War II. And before American respondents say American might won World War II, remember this - Germany's forces were mightier that those of the Allies, yet they lost.

America needs to look closely at itself. With every day that passes its swaggering, gung-ho approach becomes more of a pastiche of the goose-stepping Nazis pre-World War II. The Nazis are reviled and mocked in equal measure now - at once a joke and a horror. One day the America of the early 21st Century may be similarly seen by the civilised people of this small planet.

Benefits of Radiant Barrier Roof Sheathing

Benefits of Radiant Barrier Roof Sheathing

Homes in hot climates will often have high utility costs due to the need of cooling the home during extremely high temperatures. To combat this many homeowners turn to energy-efficient air-conditioning units and increased insulation, but they often overlook one home improvement that could significantly reduce their cooling costs. This green home improvement is a radiant barrier. This article will take a look at the benefits of radiant barrier roof sheathing when it comes to keeping your house comfortable while reducing your energy bills.

What is a Radiant Barrier?

Before we get too far it is important to understand what a radiant barrier is and how it works. A radiant barrier is composed of an aluminum sheet that is placed in the attic or just below the roof sheathing. Your roof and attic are the hottest parts of your home because the dark shingles on the house attract and absorb the heat from the sun. While this can be great if you are living in a cold climate, those in the Southern states where warmth and sunshine are the norm face higher heating costs due to this heat buildup. The thin layer of aluminum acts as a block to radiant heat transfer from the roof to the home. This keeps your attic cooler, which means your home requires less energy to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.

Reduce Energy Costs

With less heat being emitted from the roofs hot shingles the high energy costs of running an air-conditioning unit on a hot summer day are greatly reduced. While there is never a way to completely eliminate the need for cooling, the reduced heat buildup in the attic means that your A/C unit will have to run less often and for shorter periods of time while continuing to maintain a comfortable temperature indoors. This means that you're electric bills will be much lower. In fact, it takes very little time for the radiant barrier to pay for itself.

Reduce Your Carbon Emissions

By using less energy to cool your home you are also limiting the amount of carbon emissions that would be released into the atmosphere. This lower carbon footprint means that your home is greener and your family has lessened its negative impact on the environment.

Improve Comfort of Unconditioned Spaces

An additional benefit to adding radiant barrier sheathing to your home is that the unconditioned spaces become more comfortable. These areas include the attic, garage, covered porch, etc. With less heat radiated into these spaces it is easier to make use of this square footage that would otherwise be unbearably hot. This opens up how you can use your home and allows for a more spacious and comfortable living environment.

If you want to improve your home's energy efficiency while saving money on your utility bills, then you should consider installing a radiant barrier to your home. The advanced radiant barrier roof sheathing that is available today allows you to easily install this green home improvement to any home or structure, so that you can enjoy the benefits of an improved living environment while saving money.

Oss Issue Metal

What is Nu Metal?A branch off of the heavy metal music tree is known as Nu Metal. This metal genre has been known to blend other features and styles of music into their own, like Hip Hop, Punk and Grunge. Nu metal bands commonly used melodic singing, aggressive vocals and forms of hardcore punk.

This term "nu metal" meaning "new metal" was introduced in a Spin magazine article. As time went on and the genre expanded the "new metal" term was changed to "nu metal." It was presented at the end of the movie "Get Thrashed." This metal genre was introduced by Korn in 1990 and has grown through the 90's into the year 2000.
