Yemen has been famous for its popular tradition dances. The al-Rayaheen Cultural Carnival was held in Taiz province this week to reflect a true feature of Yemen’s popular heritage.

Belle Boyd, La Belle Rebelle, (May 9, 1843 - June 11, 1900) was a Confederate darling.

Young, attractive Belle Boyd was a Confederate spy. Belle was born in Martinsburg, Virginia (Martinsburg is now part of West Virginia) and was only seventeen when the Civil War started. She had a knack for listening in on the conversations of Union officers who patronized her father's Front Royal hotel. Her familiarity with the countryside of the Shenandoah Valley provided the Confederates with valuable information in the spring of 1862.

Young Belle was an enthusiastic Confederate. The year before her spying activity began, Belle shot to death an intoxicated Yankee soldier who was attempting to raise the Stars and Stripes over her Martinsburg home. She was arrested and put on trial for murder. Belle's defense was justifiable homicide and she was acquitted, free to go on her way.

Belle Boyd provided General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson and General Ashby Turner with important information during Stonewall's Shenandoah Valley Campaign, that helped with the capture of Front Royal, Virginia on May 23, 1862. Belle warned the Confederates they should move fast so they could cross bridges before Yankee soldiers destroyed them.

In appreciation for her information and spy service regarding Union troop movement during the Valley Campaign, Stonewall Jackson gave Belle Boyd the rank of captain and made her an honorary member of his staff as an aide-de-camp. Jackson wrote to the young Belle (the "La Belle Rebelle" as a French war correspondent called her); "I thank you, for myself and for the army, for the immense service that you have rendered your country today." Boyd was a brave young lady, she served Colonel John S. Mosby and his guerillas as a scout and courier. Once while on a mission, Yankees shot bullet holes through her skirt.

Belle's lover gave her away as a spy. On July 29, 1862 she was arrested on order of United States Secretary of War, Edwin Stanton. She spent a month in Old Capital Prison in Washington before being released in a prisoner exchange.

Belle was arrested for a third time in June, 1863 and remained in jail until being released the following December. She had contracted typhoid, so she sailed to Europe to improve her health and also to deliver some letters for Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Belle then returned from Europe on a blockade runner, but this ship was captured by a Union warship.

With her capture, things may have been looking grim for the young, attractive Confederate spy La Belle Rebelle. Maybe she would be imprisoned, or even executed, but her luck had not run out. Union Captain Samuel Hardinge was put in command of Belle's blockade runner, his duty being to take the ship to the North.

Quickly, Captain Hardinge fell under the charms and spell of beautiful Belle. Hardinge let Belle and the blockade runner's captain, escape to Canada, they then made their way to England.

Captain Hardinge, lost in love as he was for spy La Belle Rebelle, was court-martialed and discharged from the Union navy. He followed Boyd to England and the two love-birds were married in August, 1864. Belle Boyd had won a romantic victory by marrying her Yankee captor.

In England, Belle Boyd wrote an account of her spy activities entitled, Belle Boyd in Camp and Prison and she began a stage career. Sadly, the love story of the Confederate La Belle Rebelle and the Union captain would soon end abruptly with Samuel Hardinge's death in 1865. Belle Boyd made her way back to the United States in 1868 and continued her career as an actress, but also gave lectures about her exciting life.

Belle Boyd died in 1900 while on a lecture tour in Wisconsin.

Magnetic Secures $5 Million Total VC Investment Led by Charles River Ventures, Ron Conway, and NYC Investment Fund
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - 06/16/10) - Magnetic ( www.magnetic.is ), the leading search data marketplace, today announced total venture capital investment of $5.25 million. The Series A $4 million round was led by Charles River Ventures, Ron Conway and NYC Investment Fund. Previous investors including Founder Collective and IA Capital Partners also participated in the ...

What is the best type of investment? The short answer is 'it depends'. There are a number of factors to take into consideration when investing a lump sum.

What is your investment time frame?

Your investment time frame ends when you need access to your investment capital rather than the income from that capital. In general, if you need your capital within five years, it will be best to put your money into an investment with a fixed value to avoid the risk of making a loss.

Do you need income from the investment?

Investments can produce a return by way of income (interest or dividends) or capital gain (increase in the value of the investment) or a combination of the two. Capital gain is usually only available to you when you sell the investment. Some income producing investments have a fixed rate of return (such as bank deposits or finance company debentures) and some have a variable rate of return (such as fixed interest funds or perpetual bonds). A fixed rate has the benefit of certainty of what your income will be, whereas a variable rate offers the possibility of higher returns if market conditions change favourably.

Do you want your investment to grow in value?

If your aim is to maintain the purchasing power of your capital or increase your wealth over time then your investment will need to grow in value by at least the rate of inflation. A diversified portfolio of shares or a property investment is arguably more likely to achieve this objective over the long term than a fixed interest investment.

How much do you want to invest and what other investments do you have?

Your total investment portfolio should be spread amongst different types of investments in order to reduce your risk - in other words, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

How much risk is it appropriate for you to take?

Your age, the amount of money you have to invest, and your personal feelings about taking risk are some of the factors that will determine how much risk you should take with your investment. In general, the less risk you take, the lower your investment return will be. Make sure you know what risks are involved with your proposed investment and that the return reflects the risks.

What is your marginal tax rate?

Investments are taxed differently depending on how they are structured. If you are on either the lowest or highest marginal tax rate, some investments will be more tax effective for you than others.

Do you understand the proposed investment?

Investment products are becoming increasingly complex as different providers seek to outdo each other and attempt to increase potential returns without increasing risk. Be wary of investing in something that you don't understand.

As you can see, the best investment for you is one that fulfills all the requirements that you have. What is best for somebody else may not be best for you. Be clear what your criteria are and then use them to evaluate a number of different options. If in doubt, get some good advice!

WWII veteran receives long-overdue military medals
A World War II veteran who was shot down on his first wedding anniversary has finally received some long overdue...

The problem with the middle aged face skin is that the signs of aging are very subtle. It takes time for you to identify them and by the time you identify the issues of middle aged face skin it is too late. By too late I do not want to imply that it is a lost cause, but it requires more attention and resources.

Therefore, it is very important for you to keep a track of subtle changes of middle aged face skin like fine lines, fine wrinkles on the forehead, crowfeet, and smile lines on the face.

Here are few simple yet powerful tips you can use to control these damages to the skin and bring them to a complete halt.

1 - Keep skin clean and clear

When I say clean and clear I mean it internally; i.e. do not eat food that makes the skin oily. Oily skin attracts more dirt and grime and leads to acne and black heads. Similarly do not use cosmetic products, which consist of Mineral Oil, because the molecules of mineral oil clog the skin pores and skin is not able to get rid of internal toxins. It is very important for you to keep the skin pores opened.

2 - Wash face with cold water

One of the best ways to keep facial skin glowing and smooth is to wash it regularly with cold water. Cold water constricts the blood vessels and tightens the skin. Moreover, it also helps you get rid of the stress.

3 - Eat a healthy diet

Avoid smoking, excess alcohol if you want a smooth and soft wrinkle free skin. Stress more on fresh vegetables, fruits, and nuts; they are an extremely rich source of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. They nourish the skin cells and make them healthy.

4 - Use natural products

This is the best treatment that you can use for the middle aged face skin. The reason is the ingredients present in them. These ingredients are all natural and extracted from various sources like Plants, Fruits, and Algae etc. therefore; they do not have any side effects too.

They are also very effective because they attack the root cause of the imperfections of the middle aged face skin.

Like:

Loss of collagen

Free radical activity

Oxidation of the skin cells

Damage by the UV rays of the sun

In a nutshell, all you need to do is, hit the internet, search for the natural products and start using the same. I assure you if you follow what I have explained on my website, there is nothing that can stand between you and a soft beautiful and smooth skin you always yearned for.

How To Play Pick 4 Lottery Numbers

Most Pick 4 Lottery Tickets can be purchased for one ($1) dollar. You pick four digits from zero to nine to make up a Pick 4 Number from 0000 to 9999. These numbers are the beginning and the end of 10,000 different possible numbers that can make you a winner. Each of these ten thousand numbers are called Straight Pick 4 Numbers.

This is how to win Pick 4's Jackpot. You choose 4 digits, play them for one dollar on a Straight Ticket, and match the exact order of the drawn number of your State Lottery's drawing. You Win $5,000 in most State Lotteries.

Some State's Lottery Prize structure is based on a pari-mutuel system. In this case, the Jackpot payout is based on the amount of money invested or wagered into a drawing. The winners divide all the monies bet from the betting pool's total income. California Daily 4 Lottery has such a system.

For example, when the 8888 was drawn as the Winning Daily 4 Number on February 5, 2009, the 117 players each with the winning Straight Ticket (the only way one can play this number because there is only one form) received $416. In the non pari-mutuel systems the winners would be guaranteed the full jackpot of $5,000.

If you want to learn more about how to win pick 4 and get a $5,000 return on your $1investment or are a newbie to the daily Pick 4 lottery game, simply go to your local lottery retailer in your neighborhood and pick up a pamphlet or brochure on how to play pick 4. Or you can go online and type in your State lottery and they will provide you with all the information you need to know.

Within the information available about the Pick 4 lottery one will discover that you can play your four chosen digits straight or boxed. The Straight Ticket investment plays the number as the exact order given to the retailer. The Box Ticket investment allows the player to collect on any order of the four digits played.

For each $1Box Ticket with the number 1234 the player receives $200 for any of 24 possible orders that this number represents. When the four digits are all different this type of number is known as a "single". When two digits are the same, as in 1123 , it is known as a "double". And the payoff also doubles to $400 for every one dollar wagered based on the fact that there are only twelve possible winning forms.

These two forms represent over ninety (90%) percent of all possible winning numbers. The remaining possible Pick 4 numbers fall in the following categories of "double-doubles" when the four digits are made up of two pairs of matching numbers such as 1122, "triples" when three of the four digits match each other such as 1112, and lastly, the "quads" when all four digits match each other such as 1111, and can only be played on a straight ticket.

The double-double payoff on a Box Ticket for $1 is $800. The triple pays $1200 for the same $1 Box ticket investment. Some State lotteries mark the payoff at $1198.

Some State Lotteries such New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, and others allow for the players to invest with a $.50 per ticket. The payoffs are set at half the one dollar payoff rates. For tax purposes, the player can pick up his/her winnings from the local lottery retailer without any taxes being deducted.

This is to the player's benefit when playing double-doubles and triples. This saves both time and money. Otherwise a winning Box Ticket has to be cashed at the regional State Lottery office, and they usually deduct the State Taxes from your winnings prior to presenting you your check.

Other States, like Indiana's Hoosier Lottery, keep the minimum play at one dollar, but gives the player the opportunity to play a Pick 4 number on a combination Straight/Box Ticket for half the payout for each portion.

The secret on how to win Pick 4 is to play with a plan or strategy. There are systems and strategies available to help the Pick 4 player figure out how to choose numbers. On the internet look for systems that have proven winning strategies, all are not the same. Look for systems or strategies that provide many clear understandable examples.

Like other things in life you get what you pay for. Quality has a higher cost attached to its product. Whether it is a brand name or craftsmanship, the consumer receives a better product. That is why the initial cost factor should be less of a factor when one considers which system to purchase. All systems usually provide a money-back guarantee if the customer is not satisfied with the product.

No matter what system one decides to purchase, it is important to remember that with one's first WIN, Straight or Box, the player will recoup the cost of the purchased system. The minimum winning Pick 4 ($.50) payout is $100. It is like having a DOUBLE GUARANTEE. So even if someone sells a high quality system for $50, you make $50 while getting you money back for the system you just purchased.

When shopping for a new car, usually a person checks out a number of dealerships before making a purchase in order to get the BEST Deal. You want the best quality car for your dollar at an affordable price.
Avoiding all the hoopla of advertising, the results are what counts. Does the system offer evidence or proof of its winning capabilities? Is the system multi-faceted? Since word of mouth is crucial in identifying a quality product, check out what other customers say about the system in testimonials, if they are offered.

Lastly, the Pick 4 Lottery is the best opportunity with its low odds and high returns of one's investment to add some needed money to one's financial situation during these difficult economic times. There is no other place in the world to get these kinds of returns for such small investments in a short amount of time.

How to Win Pick 4.....simply purchase a quality system with many good examples!

Made Early

Early marriages, early endings
Early marriages were not advisable as there were many divorce cases involving young couples.

Melanoma might be a more rare form of the types of skin cancers, but it amounts to the most deaths caused from skin cancer. Melanoma is quite treatable if caught early, but it's tough to catch. Most of us have moles or skin blemishes that doctors question, but often times, it's a painful biopsy process that leaves the patient in pain - sometimes for no reason if the mole comes back melanoma-free. This new device can help detect skin cancer through heat on the skin, and leaves the patient without the pain.

The Melanoma Detector uses infrared heat-detecting technology to locate cancerous cells on the skin. Cancer cells typically divide more rapidly than regular cells, therefore causing a higher metabolic rate and giving off more heat as energy. Because the difference in temperature is very small, two professors at Johns Hopkins Cancer Center and School of Engineering have devised a process for making the difference stand out.

The process works when the skin is cooled, and then begins to heat up again. To do this, the dermatologist would shoot a burst of air onto the patient's skin for one minute. Once the cooling is finished, the Melanoma Detector is turned on and the infrared light is shined onto the mole or lesion. The doctor is able to view the differences in temperature through the same technology that is used with typical night vision goggles. If a heat variance is detected, that could be the presence of a growing malignant tumor.

One of the designers, Rhoda Alani, the skin expert of the twosome, is fairly optimistic about the product. She says, "We, at this point, are not able to say that this instrument is able to replace the clinical judgment of a dermatologist, but we envision that this will be useful as a tool in helping to diagnose early-stage melanoma."

The Melanoma Detector is not available on the market yet, but it is going through a pilot testing program to fine-tune the product. The eventual goal is that a handheld monitor will be available as well as working the technology into the current full-body scans to test a patient who has an abnormally large amount of moles or lesions on the skin. You can visit Johns Hopkins websites at http://www.jhu.edu or visit http://www.gizmag.com for more information.

The Savoy Theatre - LondonThe Savoy Theatre, built by Richard D'Oyly Carte, opened Oct. 10, 1881 in order to showcase the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan. It also had gaslights installed for backup purposes, but they were not used often. The Savoy Hotel, also built by D'Oyly Carte, went up next to the theatre in 1889. The theatre was, for many...
