fixed blade military knife?

anyone who plays CoD4 knows the military guys are given knives. i was just curious if anyone knew if they were actually issued these knives and what model they were made by who. it would also be great if someone could tell me where i could purchase one as i would like to add it to my collection.

Never in my years in the military was I ever issued a knife. Even the two years as an Armorer, we had over 1,000 knifes stored in two large foot lockers and none of those ever got issued...

The next generation of small arms coming to the top, a lot are using a bull pup configuration. Since it utilizes a rifle length barrel (about 18-20") in a carbine sized package (about 28-35" give or take) no performance or accuracy is lost in compacting the size of the rifle. However, this design is not as perfect as it sounds.

With the exception of the FN F2000, bullpups can only be fired from one shoulder safely because of the ejection next to the user's head. Also, many are back-heavy and it is more difficult to balance than a standard setup. Also, it is reportedly slower in magazine change time, and it is a lot more awkward.

Overall, there's a reason that most special ops units from countries whose conventional forces use a bullpup, instead chose a standard rifle and/or carbine. The SAS uses the M4 or the C8, GIGN (though occasionally using the FAMAS) often operates with the SIG 551, and the Australian SASR also utilizes the M4.

Depending on the means of attaching the sight and the optic employed, the bullpup design has the potential of being more mechanically accurate than a conventional weapon the same length because of barrel length and the potential for added barrel rigidity (For example the Walther WA-2000 and Bushmaster M17S).

Additional problems are practical accuracy for most designs because of extended trigger linkages, greater difficulty creating an ergonomic stock, and (without optics) limited sight radius. There is also a practical limit to conventional magazine length without going to an unconventional design parallel to the bore line like the Calico-series, FN P90, or HK G11. This means, in most weapons, the inability to use a high capacity drum for use in the AR/SAW roles.

Belt feed is actually less problematic in bullpup or semi-bullpup designs because it makes it easier to put the ammunition closer to the point of balance (like the M60/M60E3, MG42, and some of the Colt LMG prototypes.)

Modularity seems to suffer on many designs because of a combination of decreased mounting spaces (ergonomic requirements and competition with necessary optics) and balance issues from adding mass forward of the trigger.

Many bullpups have the ability to have their ejection port switched between sides simply and quickly. Examples are the FA MAS-series and the Steyr AUG. A select few eject straight down and are essentially ambidextrous like the FN 2000, FN P90, and the Calico-series of pistol/machine pistols. A few designs, like the L85/L85 series and the Bushmaster M17S's are exclusively right handed. It's not terribly reasonable to expect to halt combat to reconfigure your ejection port. This limits even these platforms to shooting from one side or the other. Not a big deal for all, to me, it's one strike against the bullpup that I don't have to worry about with a conventional rifle.

The Bullpups offer only one real advantage - compact size - full length barrel. Everything else about them is 'bog standard', even though the FN2000 has definitely got potential to be a very workable platform.

Should this be allowed at the Big Boy restaurant when it involves the Military?

Two men from Afghanistan were sitting in the restaurant eating chicken and across from them were two Marines. The Afghan men took a knife and grunted at the Marines and then slowly cut the chicken apart with their knifes as they gave hard eyes at the Marines. The Marines lost their appetite and departed the restaurant.

. . . And I suppose these folks made sure to announce to everyone that they were from Afghanistan, right? Great fantasy.

If this had happened in Jacksonville, NC, or in Fayetteville, in front of a bunch of paratroopers, I doubt that the Afghans would have survived an exit from the parking lot.

The World has determined that using depleted uranium tipped missiles and smart munitions bunker busters is polluting the battle space; and once the war is over that area is unsafe with radiation issues. Without specially tipped rounds, missile and smart bombs to deal with this, we'll have to use a greater explosion and that means more potential for collateral damage. No one wants that.

So, perhaps there is a solution, let me explain, first a quick background. According to an article in Physics dot org:

By using w-BN something we can make here in the US as we have Boron Mines, we can solve this problem, make warfare safer, and reduce collateral damage thru surgical strikes on only the facilities which threaten the world. This is only one of several solutions proposed, but one I personally favor. Think on this.

Some of there commercial knives witch are just as good as there military cousins are. the spec-plus series. the Freedom Fighter series also. the pommels and hilts on these knives are metal. When a lot of people think of manufactured homes floor plans or a manufactured homes floor plan, they think of a mobile home that is a rectangle without any other options to it. These types of homes have come a long way from the first ones that did just look like a trailer without wheels and maybe one window. The first style of home that could be created would be a wonderful log home style. Another style of home that would be great for the East Coast or even in a beach location would be the Cape Cod style home. If you have purchased beachfront property somewhere, a custom designed Cape Cod style home would be the perfect style property to build on your land. A classic front porch could be added as well to offer that beach view while sitting outside.

A third style home that you could have done in a manufacturing plant could be more of a southwestern style that looks like a traditional adobe residence. This would be perfect for the couple that wishes to retire in Arizona or the family that has a vacation place in New Mexico. The adobe style is typically a one story home with red or tan stucco outside appearance to keep it cool in the hot desert temperatures. Large windows could be added for possible mountain vistas to as well as a completely open floor plan inside where all of the rooms flow into each other. This open floor plan is great for entertaining too.

Whatever style you can imagine, whether it is traditional or modern and contemporary, there is a choice for you to have it when you consider going with the manufactured method of building versus the traditional construction. What you save on construction costs could be used for other exciting things.

Greetings to one and all, in the name and memory of Herbert W. Armstrong who visited and addressed many leaders of the nations you represent here today.

Mr. Armstrong, ambassador for world peace without political portfolio, was a man sent by the Great Creator God (who made all men and determined the boundaries and languages of each nation) to deliver a bittersweet message.

However I share with you a greater recording that will directly affect each and every one of you, and trouble your nations and bring mankind to the brink of extinction unless that “Strong Unseen Hand from Someplace” intervenes and saves us from ourselves.

From reading Ryan Mauro's book, Death to America: The Unreported Battle of Iraq -- it was impressed upon my mind how mad some Muslims are driven by the jinns of jihad and insanely seek to wreak havoc and destruction upon all the world who rejects their false vision. I gladly testify that not all Muslims share their perverted passion, as is evident in noble men like Sheik Abdul Hadi Palazzi of Rome, Italy.

However, I do solemnly affirm that such spiritual sickness does not only afflict the Muslim world, but that such religious fanaticism is again to rear its ugly head in blood-soaked Europe. Europe's rapid response to jihad will be a new crusade that will slaughter both Arabs and Jews and every Christian who doesn't agree with the Roman Catholic Church!

The Prophet Daniel records some great provocation, an Islamic confederation or network of sorts that is soon to butt heads with Catholic Europe (Daniel 11:40-45), resulting in a blitzkrieg operation that will strike them dead in the Middle East, taking out countries like Egypt and subduing Libya and Ethiopia and undoubtedly overwhelming Iran.

That is good news. Europe -- not America -- will neutralize the Nazi-Muslim threat. However, the bad news is that it will bring out the beast in Europe and only whet their appetite for more blood. Europe will morph into the final revival of the unholy Roman Empire of the German Nation, and demand Jerusalem become an “international city,” as called for by the accursed UN Resolution 181. The whole world has been focusing on Islamic terrorism, as is understandable, but the greatest threat to world peace is the German-dominated European Union! The United States has foolishly been helping to create such a Frankenstein Monster that will brutally betray both the American, British and Jewish peoples. Herbert W. Armstrong warned of this clear and present danger -- as an early warning system -- for years. The weapons of mass destruction that the increasingly fascist EU possess will unleash nuclear terror upon our major cities and rain down death and destruction upon us and those who survive will suffer deportation due to our idolatry and immorality.
