Owning a gun is a right but sword collecting is an art. There are plenty of Hollywood movies that use sword play in their action scenes but knowing where the steel came from is the research that many who deem themselves collectors always want to find out.

Japanese Samurai swords are the most popular of choice but sometimes the rarer swords have more history behind them. Take for instance the 32.25 inch replica Ancient King of Yue sword with brass handle; it's not like other swords because its dull steel finish and distinctive handle make it stand out among those with a careful eye.

The history behind the Ancient King of Yue dates back to 496 BC when King Goujian defeated the Wu State in a battle that allowed him to self-appoint as the ruler of Yue. The sword is an archeological artifact and the ancient text on the side consists of eight characters. It has been deciphered to read that the sword belonged to King Goujian of Yue and was made for his personal use.

The swords materials were broken down to show the main composition because when it was discovered it was in water where it had been for two thousand years and it was literally still recognizable. It consists of 80% copper and roughly 20% tin; this allowed it to be sturdy enough not to break.

It also has some iron and lead combined with the tin and with those combinations archeologists knew what made it such a lethal weapon. The scabbard that houses it was air tight and helped to preserve the sword when not in use. The 32.25 inch replica Ancient King of Yue sword with brass handle is tarnish free which is a rare trait, many sword collectors notice this attribute and are drawn to this fact.

This sword is not only famous for its history or how it was made but for the sheer design it displays. Many of the artifacts from dynasties past were not preserved as well and only some parts remained. The sheer craftsmanship of the King of Yue Sword allows it to stand out because of the design and that it stays sharp all the time. Many who collect swords note the replication and all who study this copy marvel at its detail. If you have an eye for swords then this one has probably caught yours already.

The 32.25 inch replica Ancient King of Yue sword with brass handle also has a handle that is 6 1/8 inches long. It resists tarnish and the scabbard is intricately detailed to show the brass fittings so its beauty can be viewed from the outside until the sword is unsheathed.

The solid steel blade and brass handle make it a beautiful display and much more than any conversation piece you might have hanging on your walls. It's best to examine it on line so you can see the incredible detail based on the original which is currently on display in the Hubei Provincial Museum in the People's Republic of China.

Girl severs finger at Leavenworth campground A 6-year-old girl nearly cut off one of her fingers with a hatchet at the KOA campground in Leavenworth. It used to be that the traditional college student was thought of as that recent high school graduate in their late teens or early twenties. However, this is no longer the typical scene around every campus. More and more people are pursuing a higher education at an older age and there are plenty of reasons why you are never too old to attend college. Many people are realizing just how much education is advancing the minimum requirements in the work force. As older people with only a high school diploma under their belts are being pushed...

Recreational shooting was popular in Colonial America and it remains very popular today. One big difference between Colonial days and today is the density of the population. Most of us live in suburban or other highly populated areas that make going out in our own little Back 40 to do some firearm's target practice both impractical and probably illegal. Rifles and handguns are also expensive to buy and can be problematic to transport and store. For people who enjoy recreational shooting air guns are an inexpensive and practical solution. A single day at the range with a conventional hand gun can cost you more than $100 with fees and ammo costs. For the same amount of money you can...

What if..the US loaned an Essex call CV to the RAN in 1951? HMAS Sydney was deployed to Korea while the completion of Melbourne was delayed to incorporate and angled flight deck, mirror landing system and steam catapult. Is God With Us (Gott Mit Uns)?Has there been a war fought when both sides didn't feel like they were at war to defend the honor of God or because God wasn't on their side? Maybe the deeper question should be is it possible for strong believers in God to be evil and do evil things? Look no further than the belt buckles of German soldiers in World War II.  "Gott mit Uns" was written on the belt buckles of WWII German soldiers. Then we have the South African religious...

The fondest of summertime memories for most children, are those of long hot and sunny days at the beach. Those memories conjure mental pictures of playing in the surf, burying Dad alive and eating peanut butter and sand sandwiches. The thoughts that don't usually jump to the front of our seaside memories are those of the sun burns. This is because we tend to remember the best of times more than the worst of times. No matter how well Mom lathered on the sunscreen, there were always spots missed, and boy, weren't they visible at the end of the day! The advent of the rash guard shirt has come to the rescue of modern Moms and Dads to prevent these painful experiences. The rash guard shirt...

Wwii Era Western

Beyond petroleum, beyond pollution, beyond politics - a short history of BP British Petroleum is the UK's largest corporation. It is among the largest private-sector energy corporations in the world. It is a vertically integrated cartel that operates oil and natural-gas exploration, marketing, and distribution all over the globe. It seems that the western paperbacks are in fact fading away in popularity. As the literature of today's world is changing, it makes way for the new age. This means that the culture wants, hot steamy love scenes, science fiction, self help, and many other forms of reading materials. The old paperback western novels are dying out except for the few that are...
