Capello in control

If you happen to be the athletic type then these pointers can really help you in choosing a champion action shape sports bra.

Participating in sports isn't that easy be it volleyball, track and field, basketball and/or baseball. What's important is that you are comfortable in the bra you have on. Also, the bra you have on should provide the right support for the breasts as well as a style that fits your personal preference.

1. In buying a sports bra, it is important that you get the right size for the body type you have as well as the structure of your body. in picking a bra, it is important for you to know your measurements. If you're in doubt, don't hesitate to approach any store lady as she knows how to precisely measure you for you to know the size of your cup. Don't ever buy anything that is bigger in size as this won't provide the support you require. Likewise, don't purchase anything that's too tight or you are going to get chaffed skin.

2. Consider the style of the bra you are about to get. In getting a sports bra, it is important for you to choose something that fits your body perfectly. When you participate in sports, there are times that there will be moving as well as stretching that you don't usually do. Make sure that the bra style you choose has the correct measurements as well as the support your breasts need. Avoid choosing anything that's too "colorful" for everyday sports since comfort will at the top of your list.

3. The quality of the sports bra is of utmost concern in buying one. There are many companies that sell various brands of bras in the market. Choose a brand that you know has a history in giving the support as well as the long-time use that you require from your sports bra. You would want to have something that still the same even after undergoing many washings. One good pointer is to wash your bra yourself in order to prolong its life as well as it shape. There are studies that have been done that show that bras washed by machine have a tendency to get worn out more quickly.

4. Choose a bra that has fabric that does not irritate your skin. Other women might have skin that's more sensitive. This means some type of cloth might not be the best for them. Know what cloth does not give your skin irritations. When you happen to be the athletic type, your skin will be exposed to friction as well as sweat and these have a tendency to give you chaffed skin. Choosing the right cloth will reduce the chaff.

Approach any of the shop ladies to get pointers on what kind of champion action shape sports bra will best suit you.

Jeff Lorber Philly Style Jazz Music CD Review

The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Jeff Lorber has released him CD entitled Philly Style. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Jeff Lorber fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Philly Style Jeff Lorber’s artistic excellence is on full display as Lorber has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

The nice thing about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Jazz isn’t your favorite style you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

Philly Style is a first rate CD, delivering a little something for everyone. I give it my highest recommendation. It’s quite simply great listening. A must buy if you're even mildly into Jazz music.

While this entire album is outstanding the truly standout tunes are track 3 - Regardless Of, track 9 - When She Smiles, and track 10 - Serpentine Lane.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - Under Wraps. Good stuff!

A dawn of socio-political Re-awakening in Anioma

That the Anioma people of Delta State are gradually arousing from a deep slumber is not an understatement. A look into the socio-political activities of the group in recent times buttresses this argument. Quite increasingly, the Anioma indigenes are phenomenally taking interest in the socio-political events of their lives as a people.  Decades back, he people were overtaken by socio-political sleep which, saw them tiredly snoring with indifference in the things that concern them as a people but it is a different scenario altogether for them today.

Several factors can be deduced as responsible for the re-awakening among the people of the state. One cannot rule that the ethnic identity problem which the group is facing and unsuccessful struggles towards producing a governor for the state. These two factors among several others have emboldened the people to arouse from slumber. The reasons presented here have more than anything quickened the race for re-awakening which the people say there is no going back on.

The emergence of Izu Anioma is viewed as a blessing to the group of people in the face of frenzy and discordant tunes which the people have associated with over the past decades. The importance of Izu Anioma cannot be over-emphasized for it has ushered a dawn of a new era in the socio-political life of the Anioma. The birth of Izu Anioma is like the emergence of shepherd for the people. Izu Anioma is now the umbrella body of the Anioma nation with a lot of responsibilities. On Saturday, April 3, 2010, the Group with its national President, Chief (Col) Mike Nduka Okwechime visited the Governor of the State, His Excellency, Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduagha in Asaba, Delta State pledging its support to the Governor and the people of the state.

Chief (Col) Okwechime lauded the development strides of Governor uduagha in Anioma areas in what was termed "Celebration of Civilization". The on-going speedy construction of the Asaba International Airport was one area the Group expressed its gratitude to the Governor that has favoured the people. The Governor appears to be been a friend of the Anioma with his recent speech that "there is no going back on Asaba as the capital of Delta State"

Concerned groups and individuals of Anioma extraction with acclaimed mandates to champion the socio-political cause of the region are fast emerging thus setting another dawn of a new era for the people of the Delta North. Recently, one Barrister Alex Nnamdi Nwadionu   from Illah granted The Nation an interview on 31, October 2009 in what he termed "Delta 2015: Its Anioma or northing" Barrister Nwadionu's view is that it is the turn of anioma to produce the next governor of the state.

Another group of individuals of Anioma indigenes under the aegis of Concerned Aniomas for Transparency Leadership (CANTRAL) was recently reported to have issued a strong warning to politicians and other political groups in the state against the imposition of candidates on the Anioma people while noting that "the people of Delta North Senatorial District have suffered in the hands of selfish politicians whose stock of trade is to promote divide and rule among the people rather than engendering unity, oneness of purpose and exemplary leadership which is the hallmark of modern democracy".

The setting-up and activities of the Anioma Political Forum and the Anioma National Congress geared towards the political emancipation of the people have upon inauguration transformed to the champions of the Anioma nation. The confidence reposed on them by the people is high and cannot be taken lightly. The Anioma Political Forum has truly emerged as the mouth-piece of the people and gathering and drumming support. Lastly, the creation of Umu Anioma "Ofu Obi Bu Nke Anyi" Group on Facebook, a social utility tool is helping to find a sense of direction for the representatives of the people. The group accommodates thousands of Anioma indigenes and focuses on finding solutions to the problems troubling the region. Twice, the group has successfully organized a telephone conference in which ideas and solutions were offered towards the develop0ment of the region.

It has in no small way added to the socio-political re-awakening of the people which is what every indigene prays for. Surely, the Anioma will fight for a place in the 2011 election and perhaps produce a governor of its extraction and most importantly win the much coveted Anioma State.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions First Look
Activision’s newest original Spider-Man game will put you in the roll of four different versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions.

Sweet desserts have existed since the beginning of mankind. It is now enjoyed by people throughout the world in variety of flavors. In the past, only the affluent society folk could afford it while the ordinary people could only enjoy it on special occasions. Advancement of sugar production allowed its more extensive spread and at much more affordable prices to customers. People enjoyed desserts worldwide because of the increased supply of sugar.

Desserts are thought to have originated from a custom to remove the aftertaste of a meal with a sweet taste as they leave the mouth with a sweet flavor. The name confection is derived from a French word 'desservir' which means to clear the table. Thousands of dessert varieties exist today. Ice cream, cakes and pies are some of the popular desserts that have been present around since ancient times.

The origin of ice cream dates back around the 4th century BC, the Roman emperor Nero had ordered his followers to gather ice and add fruit toppings for his dessert. A Chinese king named Tang developed an early form of ice cream by combination of milk and ice. Ice cream was brought back by traders to Europe. Ice cream continued to evolve during history and recipes were soon developed for serving the French and Italian aristocracy.

Ice cream was introduced in America in 1700s. Many states offered ice cream as a dessert. It was served to guests by distinguished figures like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Dolly Madison. A caterer from London advertised in a New York paper in 1774 announcing his intentions to sell ice cream in his stores.

The word 'cake' is derived from an old word 'kaka'. The first use of word 'cake' was documented by the Oxford English Dictionary in the 13th century. Cakes eaten in ancient times were very different than today. Early cakes resembled with bread and honey and flavored with dried fruit and nuts. Early Egyptians were the first who used advanced methods in baking. Medieval Europe baked gingerbreads and fruitcakes as desserts. Advancements in baking and availability of cooking ingredients helped in the development of cakes. Round cakes with icing resembling with today's cakes were introduced in the mid 17th century. Modern cakes with baking powder and white flour were used for the first time in the 19th century.

Pies originated as dessert in Neolithic Period in 9500 BC. They were known as galettes which contained honey and different grains, it was baked on hot coals. The origin of pastry was an addition of bakers fruit, honey and nuts for serving the pharaoh. Drawings relating to this practice are decorated on the tomb of King Ramses II. Changes often occurred in the making of pie because of different ingredients and conditions.

Pie recipes were brought by Pilgrim women to America which was used by the Native Americans. A tradition of using round pans for pies were started was started by colonial women. Pies became a part of American culture in the 1700s as it was served as desert by pioneer women. Apple pie became a popular evening dessert for the American children.

Depth of Field: Three Ways to Make it Work for You

Depth of field is one of the most important aspects of photography you can learn. Use depth of field well in your photography and you can gain immense control over the look and impact of your photos. Unfortunately, depth of field also seems to be one of the toughest aspects for beginners to learn and master.

Even when you break it down to the simplest terms, the relationship between aperture and depth of field can seem confusing. Whenever I teach a class, or try to explain the manual settings on a friend's camera, this is the always topic we have to go over again and again. The good news is that with practice and concentration, the aperture/depth of field relationship will finally 'click' for you. The bad news is, there is more to understanding depth of field than just using your aperture.

But let's get back to basics. What is depth of field?

In simple terms, the depth of field is the area behind and in front of your main point of focus, that is also acceptably in focus. So if you focus on a subject one metre away, you might look at your photo and find that everything from 0.9 to 1.2 metres is in focus. In this case, your depth of field is 0.3 metres (30 centimetres).

The very first thing a new photographer learns about depth of field is that it is controlled by the aperture on your lens. Very simply, a smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, and a larger aperture creates a narrower depth of field. So if we go back to our previous example, let's say the 30cm depth of field was captured with an aperture of F-8. You could narrow the depth of field considerably by adjusting the aperture to F-2.8, a much wider setting.

Sound confusing? It is hard to explain it any more simply, especially without showing you photos as examples. If this is your first time working with depth of field, don't worry. Go outside right now and take some shots just as I have described, and you should be able to see the results right away.

So if it is that simple, why do so many people struggle with depth of field? As I wrote earlier, there is more to depth of field than just the aperture.

Depth of field is also affected by how close the subject appears in your photo. That means either how close you are to the subject, or how much you magnify or reduce the subject using different sized lenses.

The closer you are to your subject, or the closer you make the subject appear by zooming in with your lens, the smaller the depth of field becomes. Let's say you are photographing a person five metres away. At this distance, a standard or wide-angle lens will not only show a lot of background, but the wide depth of field could make the background quite distracting. However, if you walk much closer to the subject and re-focus, the depth of field will become much smaller. As a result, the well-focused person will stand out clearly from a blurry background. You can maximize the effect by opening the aperture to its widest setting.

Now imagine your subject is posing in front of a beautiful waterfall. If you stand close to the subject and photograph them with a wide aperture, you could get a great shot of the person but the waterfall will be an out of focus blur. You could improve the situation slightly by closing the aperture a few stops. However, the most effective way to improve the depth of field is to stand a few metres further back, and/or zoom back to a wider angle with your lens. Not only will more background be visible, it will also be sharper (thanks to the increased depth of field) than if you adjusted the aperture alone.

So there you have a quick look at not one, but three factors than can make it easier to master depth of field; aperture, distance from the subject, and the size of the lens. This really is a topic that needs to be illustrated with a few photos, but hey - you have a digital camera. Why not go and try out these ideas at the next opportunity? You can see the results immediately, and of course with a digital camera it won't cost you anything but a little time. With practice and patience, you will get a 'feel' for depth of field, and how to use it to improve your photography.
