what's the best survival knife I can get for around a hundred dollars?

keep in mind I work for an ffl dealer so a hundred for me will go a lot further than yours will. I'm going backpacking in Montana so I need something strong.

I like Becker knives for both price and features. I'd suggest you don't go armed with something John Rambo would have been happy with. (You'll just get laughed at behind your back!)

A good survival knife has to be able to: open cans, whittling, build snares, skin and gut game, and fight an enraged grizzly bear after you've missed a lot and run out of bullets! (JK!) I'd recommend a 5 to, no more than, 9 inch blade - No bigger. The blade should have some, 'belly' or curve to it for skinning; and only a minimal guard to protect your hand from slipping when you're all wet or bloody - not a cross-hilt fighting guard - OK!

Did I ruin my survival knives?

So here's the story: I own a Spyderco Tenacious and a swiss army knife hiker version. Lately I've tried everything to get them sharp. Stones, rods, (I'm not good at keeping a constant angle, anyway) V sharpener thingies, everything I can think of. At first they got a little sharper, but now they're even duller than they were when I started. Nothing is working at all. So, my question is, through all of this sharpening trial and error, is there some way I could have ruined my knives' cutting angle so bad that they can never be sharp again? If not, is there a fool-proof product you can recommend and/or is there any where I can ship my knives to so they can sharpen them? Thanks.

You're knives shoud still be fine. You could probably send them to any knife company to be resharpeded. I know the Bass Pro Shop near me sharpens knives for free.

The State of Rhode Island would then have an army of people trained by these experts "mainly students, the unemployed and volunteers" who would train Rhode Islanders in this industry. If the state took 100 people and had them write articles fivr days a week on Rhode Island's great points and the benefits of visiting and living in Rhode Island. Not only would Rhode Island see an increase in tourism and residents, but Rhode Islanders could become trained in tourism and internet marketing at the same time. These article marketers will be 1099 employees of the State of RI and get bonuses in their unemployent checks for their articles. There are thousands of paid article writers in this country who get paid per article. Usually $3 to $6 per article depending on the size. A 250 word article usually pays $3.

I have a person that writes 30 articles per day 5 days per week for me about Christian Music and I sell Christian musc downloads. I pay her $500 a week and she writes 150 articles a week. Does your 7th Grader need help learning his or her 7th grade spelling words? Does he or she roll their eyes every time you ask if they've studied? I've compiled a few spelling help tips below along with some reasons to keep studying, even if you think spell check will someday solve all of your problems.

Just because your 7th Grader isn't the best speller on Earth, doesn't mean they aren't smart. Some kids just aren't that good at spelling naturally. That doesn't mean that your student should throw in the towel. They should focus on alternate ways to learn spelling. Obviously, staring at a paper, trying to memorize the weekly spelling list has not worked out for them thus far.

Since 7th Graders are usually pretty good typists, they have a lot of options to practice online. Online programs can be fun and they can offer a multisensory approach, reaching students in ways that they haven't been reached before. Some programs are free while others cost money, but it is worth investigating.

Many believe that learning spelling is partly the hand motions that are involved with writing. Some students benefit from writing words and the spelling list is sometimes committed to memory easily by following this technique. If your student struggles with handwriting, this may be a way to accomplish two tasks at once.

Games can be a wonderful way to learn 7th grade spelling words. Why not use Scrabble, Upwords or other letter related games to practice spelling in fun ways. Bend the rules of the game to fit your goal. Your student will love the chance to beat you in such a game.

It can also improve their overall communication and speed, as they will not have to check their work as often. Spelling is important, but if your student struggles, keep trying new ways to learn. It is highly possible that your student just has a different learning style and all you need to do is find the right one.
