Fresh violence in Kyrgyzstan as humanitarian crisis grows
OSH, Kyrgyzstan -Fresh violence including artillery fire flared in Kyrgyzstan Tuesday as thousands desperate to flee ethnic clashes pleaded in vain to pass through the sealed border into Uzbekistan.

In 1978 the great American icon that is the Chevy Corvette turned 25 years old. While everyone was anticipating a limited edition to commemorate the Silver Anniversary, no one anticipated what was to come; two limited editions for the 1978 model year.

Before Bill Mitchell officially stepped down from his post at GM he would make the suggestion that the Silver Anniversary Corvette be painted in his favorite color. As it turned out that color was silver which just so happened to fit perfectly for the theme and thus the B2Z option package was born.

The limited edition 25th Anniversary paint was really little more than some striping, but it would prove to be a popular option. This special edition Corvette would be the first Vette to feature a two tone paint job since the 1961 rendition. The silver paint of the limited edition was on top of a brilliant gray and separated by a pin stripe. While the option was not all that expensive for Chevy to produce, they added a nice mark-up to the buyers tab.

The Silver Anniversary Vette also came with aluminum wheels and special mirrors that were referred to as "sport" mirrors. Really all this represented was another mark-up that need to be paid by the buyer.

While that special edition was indeed expected, what was a surprise to all those who loved the Corvette was the fact that the Indianapolis 500 would be paced that year by a Corvette and this gave GM another opportunity to cash in on a limited edition. The plan was to make only 2,500 replicas of the official pace car which would be 100 for each of the first 25 years of the Corvette. However, Chevy quickly realized that the number would not fly as they were near 6,200 dealerships nationwide. What was ultimately decided was that each dealership would receive at least one for the showroom which meant that the number of 6,200 would make up almost 15 percent of all the Vettes sold for the 1978 model year. While it was a special edition, the Corvette pace car replica of 1978 didn't prove to be much of a "limited" edition.

In the same manner as the Silver Anniversary edition, the pace car replica was sold as on option package tagged RPO Z78. Its main distinction would also be two tone paint only in this version it was black over silver paint all separated by a red stripe. Each pace car replica also featured a spoiler on the front (similar to the Trans Am) and rear to give it further distinction. The interior would see all sorts of silver and gray accents that blended flawlessly to make a really nice look.

Even though the pace car replica was considerably more than the standard Vette on the sticker they all sold for over list price as they looked like an instant classic. This prompted the imposters to come out of the woodworks and had many 1978 Vette owners transforming their regular Vettes into pseudo pace car replicas.

While not the best special editions that Corvette had made any means they were nonetheless considered a success, especially the pace car replicas. This would leave many simply chomping at the bit in anticipation for the next special edition Corvette to come out and it showed the GM folks that they could indeed have two special editions in the same model year.

If you're thinking of starting a charity fund raising event, then you probably know all the most obvious questions that you should be asking yourself. These include why this non profit charity fund raising needs to exist or who will help run the fund raising event. You need to have a clear idea of the scope of what the fund raising will be used for and where the fund raising event will take place. If you have the answers to all these things, then you're well on your way to making your dream a reality.

Now that you know what your goals are for your charity fund raising there are some technical issues that you might encounter. These are such things as whether your charity requires a non-profit corporation. Non profit fundraising means receipts for tax deductible contributions. Your non-profit fund raising also has to support a legitimate charity. You also need to have non-profit exempt status so that your charity does not have to pay taxes on the money raised. If you qualify for this tax exemption then you better be prepared to have a lot of paperwork because you'll need to keep all records of everything.

For non profit fund raising to be legitimate, you really do need a board of directors. When you're choosing board members for your non profit charity fundraising, you have to choose wisely. Charity fund raising board members can come from any background but there are some points to keep in mind. Each should bring a special ability with them and it is very important that they are committed to your purpose. Try to find people that are fairly low key in your community. These will be the ones that are interested in your non profit fund raising.

This board will set the rules of the non profit organization but they will also be responsible and accountable in a lot of things in the non-profit fundraising. They will have to make the policies, budgeting, planning, the non profit fund raising itself, and human resources. Your non profit charity fund raising also needs an executive director. This job will require a skilled person and when you decide on this position for charity fund raising, he/she should have the freedom to lead the rest and do what is best for your non- profit fund raising.

So as you can see depending on the size of your charity fund raising, it is going to be a job in itself to get set up. There will be a lot of work for everyone involved with the non profit fund raising, but it will be worth while when you accomplish your goal at the end.

You need to know your goals if you are doing some charity fund raising.

Handle Shovel Entrenching

The Value Of A ShovelI grew up in Florida. I loved my childhood years, and not just because I lived three miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Rather, I loved my childhood because it was quite a normal childhood. I went to school and mostly hated it. I had a ton of friends that I loved to play with for hours and hours on end. My family was great and we made it to the beach as often as we could make time for it. My life seemed perfect, and I was quite sure that it would stay that way. I went to college in Florida and just assumed that I'd always live there. Life has a way of giving us reality checks however. I searched for jobs and found one in Minneapolis, Minneasota. I moved there ignorantly...
