Has anyone ever threatened you with a deadly weapon?

For me it was when I was like 8 or 9. This guy who was a vietnam vet who lived in the neighborhood came out with a butcher knife and started yelling at all the kids outside that he was going to kill them.

yes a few times

Farewell fit for a hero: Vietnam veteran finally laid to rest after 39-year wait
Pallbearers carry the remains of Chief Warrant Officer Donald L. Wann to a horse-drawn caisson after the eulogy in Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Wann, who had been missing in action since he was shot down in Vietnam in 1971, was buried Saturday with full military honors.

When you start the fabulous hobby of sword collecting one of the first things you have to come to terms with is the words with which the various parts of the sword are known. This article will describe the following items:

  • Pommel
  • Grips
  • a
    Quillons
  • Cutaway
  • Fuller
  • Blade
  • Point

Starting at the very top of the sword there is either a round or square item at the top of the handle and this in known as the pommel. The pommel performs two very useful functions.

The first is to stop your hand from slipping from the handle, and in fact your hand is sandwiched between two components of the sword, the pommel and the quillons, whose collective responsibilities are to stop your hand from slipping off either into your own blade or off the sword completely.

The pommel has another function which is to form a weapon for close quarters combat. It is used to strike down on the head of an opponent when they are close enough. This is where the term pommelling comes from and it means to strike down upon someone. The word is originates from the french word pommel as do so many words in the sword dictionary.

The next part of a sword is the handle or grips whose name describes the function for which it is used and that is to hold the sword.

The next part is the quillons, which is always spoken of in the plural as there are two halves of a quillon the left hand side and the right hand side. The quillons job is to both protect the hand from the blade and also to stop the hand from slipping off the sword.

Quillons can be made to look quite ornate and in the case of the old swashbuckling swords of the buccaneers they were very large and round and quite similar to the quillons used on an epee which is the sword used for the sport of fencing.

There is also something which in modern language terms would be described as a cutaway but in more traditional terms is known as a fuller. The job of the fuller is to give the blade flexibility and strength and also leads to a reduction in weight as well. It runs the whole length of the blade and is best described as a groove.

The blade is quite obviously for slashing or cutting and does not really require any further description as to the functionality. A more interesting perspective about the blade is what it can be constructed from. Whilst most blades are steel you can get everything from glass to gold although these more ornate structures are for ceremonial purposes rather than battle situations.

And finally there is the point which is the business end of the sword at the very tip of the sword.

The phrase "do you get my point" is believed originate from this part of the sword as in when asking someone if they understood what you mean, as in ancient times to get the point meant you really did understand what they meant.

There were so many families that were affected by the recent financial crisis in this country. This financial crisis has motivated people to take a much closer look at how they spend, save, and what type of investments they have.

Saving money isn't something new but as the "microwave" generation came forth, there has been more emphasis on impulsive spending. The mentality of getting it now has somewhat corrupted the nation. The younger generation of children that are in school now have very little understanding on the basics of money.

Because of the levels of interest rising, there has been more businesses and educational advocated that have began teaching financial literacy to children and adults alike.

Money Management Profiles

Being able to manage money more efficiently starts with a clear understanding of how money is spent and who is doing the spending. There a three basic types of money managers. There are the spenders, savers, and investors. Each of these profiles are described below:

Spenders

This person doesn't plan for the future by saving. Some individuals in this category may think about planning for the future but still use all their extra money splurging on items that they want in excess. So this type of person may earn enough to save but doesn't. They make choices to upgrade their cell phone plan or buy several pairs of shoes, go to the movies every weekend, buy school lunch every day, or spend all their extra cash at the arcade.

Savers

This person saves their money on a regular basis. This isn't a bad strategy if it is coupled with a method that creates multiple streams of income that is residual. The savings is good because it takes care of those unexpected expenses and the emergent financial crisis.

Investors

This person puts their money where it can create residual income over a lifetime. This person does save and will spend but saves for purposes and spends to invest in something with a large return. Some investors place their money in the stock market, which is a riskier type of investment and doesn't always present a residual income potential. Creating residual income is the best investment that anyone can make. This type of investment establishes a more secure financial outlook.

Family Money Patterns

Different family patterns have always been recognized. So why not family money patterns and spending habits? These patterns can affect individuals in two different ways. Some will look at their family money patterns and say they will not follow in that same pattern and others will naturally gravitate towards the pattern.

Families tend pass on different legacies to their children. There is nothing greater than passing on great money management skills. When creating generational habits it can become generational wealth. It starts by some sort of investment and leaving behind a legacy of spending, saving, or investing.

Today's roundup of quick music news stories

Byakuya is a master of bleach swords, capable of flawless precision and extremely lethal attacks without having to use much effort. He is very well-known for his ability of Flash steps.

He was taught this skill by the "Goddess of Flash steps" Yoruichi Shihoin, and his abilities are almost on par with hers, just slightly below her. Among the shinigamis of the Soul Society however, he is the master. His bleach sword Senbonzakura is also called Thousand Cherry Blossoms and is a very powerful katana, with a basic cross guard with an open frame, much like a four-pane window.

In its Shikai form, Senbonzakura's blade separates into a thousand blades, turning into very tiny blade fragments that will fly away within the hilt, leaving just the handle to hold. The fragmenting of the sword blades can be negated just before it bursts, as seen when when Yoruichi Shihoin wraps the blade in cloth during the course of Byakuya's brief battle with Ichigo. Nevertheless, if the blade dispersion completes, then Senbonzakura will be nearly unstoppable. When dispersing the blades reflect the light in such a way that they seem to appear as cherry blossom flower petals, however they are not soft and sweet, but quite deadly.

When he swings Senbonzakura's hilt, Byakuya can control the blade parts at will, allowing him to shred his enemies at a distance and breakdown virtually any form of defense. Its Bankai "Senbonzakura Kageyoshi" form is basically a considerably greater version of Senbonzakura's Shikai. In order to activate the cycle of attack, Kuchiki Byakuya drops his sword straight down. The sword sinks down into the earth, as easily as dipping one's hand into a pool of water. Power ripples expand out from the blade, turning the surrounding immediately surrounding area to dark, and inside of seconds, two rows of the thousand great blades shoot out from the soil. Thousands of individual swords fly and pierce the opponents. Enemies are usually unaware of what is about to him them, and even if they are they cannot track the movements of the individual blades or dodge them.

The quantity of blades is more than sufficient so for Byakuya to use them for defense as well as offense at the exact same time. He generally gathers them into large masses, used to pierce enemies almost instantaneously. Since Senbonzakura moves through the air like the torrents of a tidal wave, it can be likened to cherry blossoms flowing along using the wind. Kuchiki's can defend himself by covering himself with these killer tiny blades, and form a shield system.

In contrast to his Shikai, the Bankai is solely mentally manipulated. Although Byakuya can control the blades of his bleach sword with his thoughts alone, using his hands permits him to accomplish control even more efficiently, thus producing rates of speed and control that are three times greater than with just his mind alone. As with his Shikai, the assault is mainly triggered using the word Scatter.

Heavenly Sword Review

Heavenly Sword was expected to be a launch title when the Sony PlayStation 3 made its debut, but that never came to fruition. Instead, Heavenly Sword was delayed until September 2007. The game is a Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive video game. Gamers will be in control of a fairly attractive protagonist named Nariko. The storyline in Heavenly Sword is about Nariko and her father. Her father was killed, and Nariko wants to seek vengeance. In order to avenge her father’s death, she must wield a deadly weapon known as the Heavenly Sword. The plot is your usual tale about revenge and tyranny. It is nothing that we have not seen before and nothing out of the ordinary. I have seen this same storyline in a myriad of other video games. The visuals in Heavenly Sword are stunning. Facial animations entail the entire body, so every part someone’s face looks realistic. All of the environments are drop dead gorgeous. From the ancient architecture to the flora, everything in Heavenly Sword looks splendid. The exemplary presentation of the game does not stop there. The audio in Heavenly Sword is on par with God of War; (though it is not better than God of War) furthermore, the voice acting makes the characters come to life. The gameplay breaks down like this: players have three stances at in their arsenal. One stance is a swift stance that enables you to attack foes quickly. The second stance is a powerful but slow fighting stance. Lastly, there is a ranged stance that allows gamers to hit opponents from a distance. Every stance fits Heavenly Sword well, and they all complement each other. For instance, utilizing a swift stance will eradicate minor enemies. But a power fighting stance might work for a boss. There is also a satisfying counterattack maneuver (ala Assassin’s Creed) that can be executed by pressing a button at the correct moment. When it is done correctly, Nariko will perform a one hit counter attack kill. One flaw with the gameplay is that is devoid of a block button. You can block, however it is completely random and arduous to achieve. You have to match the same fighting stance that your enemies are using. If they use a swift fighting stance, then you have to use a swift fighting stance. One of three colors will radiant around your foes that will accentuate what stance they are utilizing. It seemed like blocking was an afterthought in Heavenly Sword, and the blocking mechanic is a disaster. A great deal of the gameplay is redundant but manages to keep players intrigued. Excluding bosses, most of your opponents are immensely generic looking characters that lack any depth. Speaking of the bosses, they are definitely an attention grabber. Boss fights add some challenge to the game and provide a much needed chance of pace from the repetitive gameplay. Heavenly Sword has its share of contact sensitive moments (ala God of War) that will appease God of War fans. These contact sensitive parts in the game are significantly difficult to accomplish because you are given a limited time to react when the button icons appear. Luckily, the button icons are identical each time (unlike God of War). Without giving too much away, there is one particular puzzle in the game that involves throwing a shield that will make you want to scream at the top of your lungs. Fortunately, the game developers did rectify a majority of the camera blunders in the demo. Many people will be mesmerized with the dazzling martial arts acrobatics in Heavenly Sword; others will be mesmerized with the red-haired beauty named Nariko (I know I was); some will be mesmerized by both. Overall, Heavenly Sword is not as brilliant as God of War. The most vexing aspect of Heavenly Sword has to be the length. The game is over before you know it; moreover, maybe six or seven hours of gameplay from start to finish. The final verdict on Heavenly Sword is that it is good but not a remarkable game.

Knives Switchblade Demolition

The process Selective demolition is a process where the demolition activities are sequenced in such a way that it makes way for the separation of building materials and then sorting them out. The act involves the removal of selective parts of building; the removal of portions or components of a structure. This process is used to demolish certain interior finishes without affecting the remaining structure in any way. The projects involving selective demolition are the ones which have environmental ramifications. There are structural considerations in this process since these can have potential impacts to the other works which are happening within the adjacent area. For example, if a...
