If you're in the market for new tires, whether for your car, your 4x4, your motorcycle or some other vehicle, you're going to be faced with a ton of choices. High performance, comfortable riding, off-road and even commercial tires are just a few of the options you'll have. Let's look at what you should know when making your decision.
Car and light truck tires are available in a whole bunch of different sizes and applications. You might want all-weather or even snow tires if you live in a colder area, or you might want tires specially designed to grip well in wet condition if your area gets a lot of rain.
Whichever type of tire you choose, you can get them in sizes from the smallest wheels up to something you might see rolling under a monster truck.
There are also tires that are made for very specific situations, such as off-road tires for four wheeling. You can get mud tires that have knobby, aggressive treads that will cut through mud easily. Or more general-purpose all-terrain tires that may not be as aggressive but give you a smoother ride on pavement and smoother surfaces.
If you're looking for something designed for heavier duty use, commercial truck tires might be the way to go. Even if you're not using them in commercial applications, these tires can give you much better life and even improve your gas mileage in some cases.
Other tires, such as ATV or garden tractor tires, have their own specific features. Again you can find various tread patterns and tire designs, with specific uses for each.
Whatever type of tires you're looking for, it's a good idea to do a bit of research before buying to ensure you're getting the best bang for your buck. A little time spent researching beforehand can save you a lot of headaches down the road, so make the time to do it right.

You're sharpening your knife and have tested it to confirm for sharpness. You know that you've achieved it because you've found a burr on the knife's edge. This burr is how we know that the edge has reached the point of absolute sharpness. It confirms it. Should you stop there? Oh, but you must. There's only so much sharpening that can be done to an edge. To continue after that only results in unnecessary loss of metal on your blade edge. To continue gains nothing. Are you done then? You've got a burr on your blade edge and it should be removed. Once you've done that, the edge will usually have tiny bits of metal still clinging to it. These bits feel like sand on the edge. But you'd...
