Wouldn't life be boring if we all had the same color skin, eyes, or hair? Absolutely it would. It also would be boring if we wore the same clothes, drove the same car, and ate the same food.

Thankfully, life here on earth does have some variety. But even with all the variety, in some cases, you still see people with the same car or clothes. This is a huge travesty unless you don't mind being boring, plain, and dull.

One bad thing about big corporations, among other reasons that we won't get into in this article, is that the big clothing departments have taken over all the little guys (it seems) which makes for far fewer clothing selections. We need the little ma and pa shops to create variety in our clothing. So please root for the little guy!

A solution that helps to give variety and helps us to dress uniquely is vintage clothing shops. You can find vintage clothing from most any era in the 1900's, especially the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's.

True vintage clothing shops hardly ever carry more that one of each article of clothing. So you can go to a vintage clothing shop and buy a pair of pants, shirt, belt, and boots or a skirt, blouse, shoes, and purse and be the only one on the planet with that ensemble.

Is there anything better than knowing that you will never run into someone that is wearing the same article of clothing as you? Well...maybe a few things but lets spare you, the reader, those topics for another day. But it sure does feel good to be completely and unequivocally unique.

Although I don't really believe deep down that our clothes define us-on the surface level, they really do. Whether you like it or not, people judge us by what we wear and if you are going to be judged you might as well look good!
