Senate rivals are ready to get started: John Maginnis
Only the most obsessive-compulsive of super chronic voters are expected to go the polls Aug. 28 next for the first primary of the U.S. Senate election, which also will be, if the Legislature doesn't change its mind again, the last...

Now that you have figured out that you would like to start upholstering, choose a simple project first. Putting a zipper in a pillow is a nice simple project that can get your feet wet with upholstering.

Find a pillow around your home that you would think would be a great candidate for your project. If you don't have a pillow on hand, feel free to go to you local thrift store and purchase one to practice on.

After you have your pillow you want to make sure you have all of the supplies to start your project. Some supplies that you need are a zipper that is the length from your pillow plate corners, matching thread to your pillow and a needle.

Now that you have all your supplies, you will want to first take the zipper and pillow and cut the zipper to be the length of your pillow if it is not. Then, you will want to fold a piece of your pillow over the end of the zipper and sew across it to hide the bottom of the zipper. You are almost done.

Take the other end of the zipper and you will want to fold a piece of the pillow over it to cover it and sew across that piece. Make sure that you hide as much as the zipper as possible. After you are done with the ends, you will then want to start sewing the sides of the zipper. Again, make sure you sew as close as you can to the zipper to hide any left over fabric.

Once you have completed the sewing, zip up the zipper and take a look at your final project! Great job on your first upholstery project!

Thousands attend cremation of 'Red Shirt' Thai general Thousands of Thai "Red Shirts" turned out Tuesday for the cremation of a rogue general killed during opposition protests, staging their biggest gathering since the army quashed their rally last month. What do I mean when I ask "Has the solar energy industry sold out?"? Remember when the only time you heard the word "solar" was if an eclipse was about to happen? And the only people who knew about solar as far as using it to generate electricity were the kind of people who were regarded as slightly unusual, eccentric, latter-day hippies, etc.? Solar energy was for the pioneers, going boldly where nobody else dared - or, more likely...

Germany, the Worlds and the Wars  The Treaty of Versailles The Treaty of Versailles, signed on 28 June, 1919 at the Paris Peace Conference is one of the internationally acclaimed documents that not only came into being at a crucial point in the history of troubled Europe and of the world, but serves as a point of reference to the turnout of the events after the World War I. The document addressed measures against Germany for its prominent role in the WWI; it contained reparations that Germany was to pay to the victorious countries that fought on the side of the Allied Powers and enforced Germany to accept the blame as the sole cause of the war. The conference itself opened...

Boot salesman's 17th year at the Greeley Stampede A tattered, vintage Greeley Stampede T-shirt and a North Korea Veteran hat barely brush the surface of long-time boot salesman Joe Hannabach’s lifetime. Wouldn't life be boring if we all had the same color skin, eyes, or hair? Absolutely it would. It also would be boring if we wore the same clothes, drove the same car, and ate the same food. Thankfully, life here on earth does have some variety. But even with all the variety, in some cases, you still see people with the same car or clothes. This is a huge travesty unless you don't mind being boring, plain, and dull. One bad thing about big corporations, among other reasons that we...
